1. Decision to replace Columbus Day with a Muslim holiday is challenged

President Andre DiMino and One Voice has demanded to know the reason why the Superintendent of the Paterson School District would remove the Columbus Day Holiday in favor of a Muslim Holiday. This decision is UNACCEPTABLE!  DiMino wants to know who is involved and intends to take this matter to the entire school board as well as the NJ State Education Dept. DiMino stated, “This is the WRONG message to give to our children, an embarrassment to Italian American students and an insult to all New Jersey Italians.” ... ONE VOICE  challenges  these continuing assaults on our great history and culture, but we can’t do it without Your help.

President DiMino has begun the protest by sending a letter to NJ Governor Christie (Paterson School District is now run by the State)   One Voice is now asking all organizations, IAOVC Defenders & activists to respond. Let us protest with one loud Voice.  If Paterson succeeds, others will follow and Columbus will be lost forever.  Stop it now.

Remember a Letter from an Organization is great, but thousands from its members is powerful!

2. Fox News’ Charles Payne wonders … “where have the Italians been?"

On Fox Business’ ‘Varney & Company’9/28/2011the host Mr. Charles Payne stated to Andre DiMino,"...Almost every time I turn on the TV, I hate to say it, Italians are being shown in such a negative light.  It's amazing.  How does this happen?  How do they get away with it?"  After some comments he then says, "Why aren't Italians upset about this?  Obviously, you are."  And then he closed the segment by saying, "...I understand what you are doing and I tell ya, I for one applaud it.  Because I've been wondering for a long time, where have the Italians been?"

It would be great if more ITALIAN AMERICANS share the sentiment expressed so well by Mr. Payne a non-Italian!

Things have not changed! Many Italian Americans just don’t get it.
What gets me is many NON-Italians DO!
A headline of an article in the NY Post by Jack Newfield   dated Feb. 4.1992. led with, "Prejudice against Italian-Americans is the most tolerated intolerance."

Robert MacNeil, TV news anchor and journalist, has stated that criminal slang now comes with an Italian accent because of the media and not the Mafia

Congressman Charles Rangle said he was confounded as to why Italian Americans remain silent in the face of blatant defamation.
